Sydney Accounting Pty Ltd was founded in 1936 and is now in its 3rd generation of providing accounting, tax and business management advice.

Being an accountancy firm working in close knit communities, we understand the complex
dynamics that exist between individuals, businesses and their community.

We manage the financial affairs of both individuals and small to medium businesses, ideally
teaching our clients as we go to ensure every financial burden becomes lighter.

In contrast to many accounting firms, we aim to tailor our accounting and financial systems to
each client's unique character and requirements.

Our Services


Sydney Accounting offers a wide range of services for both individuals and businesses.
These range from accounting and taxation to financial planning and business development.


We are also committed to training our clients wherever appropriate to handle their day-to-day
matters correctly and effectively by offering training sessions in areas such as filing and
bookkeeping. This results in our clients maintaining control over their financial destiny.

However, no matter which of our services interests you, we guarantee to convey information
in plain English, provide personalised service and offer fabulous value.

Services for Individuals


Services provided by Sydney Accounting include:
  • Income Tax Returns
    We offer a full range of income tax return preparation, ranging from basic to very complex.
    Our Tax Organiser is a folder we provide all our clients with on an annual basis so that paperwork maintenance becomes easier.
  • Financial Planning
    We realise that an important part of financial management is planning for the future.
    This means that Sydney Accounting is not simply about 'doing the do' today but also
    about making it easier to 'do the do' in the future. To maintain our integrity of
    independence, this service is currently outsourced.
  • Instalment Activity Statements (IAS)
    These are issued by the ATO on either a monthly or quarterly basis and are used to
    report and remit payments to the ATO other than GST. We have a range of options
    regarding preparation and lodgement of IAS. This includes you preparing the return
    and eitherlodging it yourself or getting us to lodge it electronically, as well as a full
    prepare and lodge service.

    Many of our clients are now handling the preparation of these, to ATO auditable standards.

Services for Business


Having worked with many small businesses we have come to the conclusion the best thing
we can do for our business clients is to either get them to a point where contact with us is
at a minimum.

We try to add value to our clients wherever possible and our business health checklist is just one
of the ways we do this.

This takes time, and is based on the philosophy that by working with the owner of a business we establish the business goals and help reach those goals.

Services provided by Sydney Accounting include:
  • Company Tax Return At Sydney Accounting we prepare a full variety of tax returns from
    basic to highly complex.
  • Company Secretarial As a part of our Company Secretarial work we check company statements, ensure ASIC is kept up to date with any changes to details as well as
    preparing any necessary forms or paperwork.
  • Activity Statements We have a range of options regarding preparation and lodgement of
    IAS and BAS. This includes you preparing the return and either lodging it yourself or getting
    us to lodge it electronically, as well as a full prepare and lodge service.
  • Fringe Benefit Tax We prepare Fringe Benefits Tax Returns and advise on salary
    packaging to minimise     FBT.
  • Business Development, Appraisal & Financing We offer a wide range of services
    surrounding the development, appraisal and financing of your business.


    There are generally three choices:
    to grow the business to a level where it is stable and operating at a level the owner is comfortable to maintain, and knows when and how Sydney Accounting can be of service
    grow the business so it is independent of the owner. Sufficient growth will result in the appointment of a full time internal accountant minimising the work required by Sydney Accountingto ready the business for sale. In which case the purchaser will take over the financial management and the vendor's requirements will change.
